Dili, 14 December 2015 - The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA-TL) in Timor-Leste donated computers and laptops to Police Training Center and Health Clinical and Maintenance Unit of Polisia Nasional de Timor-Leste (PNTL)
In a ceremony held at the office of Health Clinical Assistance and Maintenance Unit, Caicoli Dili, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA-TL) in Timor-Leste handed over computers and laptops to both PNTL training center and health clinical assistance and maintenance unit of PNTL. UNFPA-TLis implementing a comprehensive project on Sexually Transmitted Infection (STIs)/Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) and Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA) prevention for Polisia Nasional de Timor-Leste (PNTL) member. The prevention programs covers from advocacy, capacity building through training activities and support of necessary equipment needed. This program is a close collaboration between UNFPA-TL and both PNTL's training center and health assistance and maintenance unit.
Mr. Jordao Estelvidio (Procurement Officer, UNFPATL) handed over computers and laptops to both PNTL's commanders: Mr. Emilio Dos Santos (Superintendent Assistant, Training Center) and Mr. Abilio de Araujo (Police Inspector, Head, Health Assistance and Maintenance Unit). It is hoped that this donation could strengthen PNTL to implement and monitor the program across the country.
