Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Under the supervision of the Assistant Country Representative,

·         In collaboration with Government counterparts, partner NGOs, UN Agencies, and other development partners, the incumbent shall support the implementation of the youth programme, in particular in its activities related to Sexual reproductive health information and comprehensive sexuality education for youth, Advocacy for their SRH rights, Support to their access to SRH services, Peer to peer SRH education programmes

·         The incumbent shall in particular support the roll-out of the Healthy Relationships Manual in partnership with the Secretariat of State for Youth and Sports through manual finalization and launch, training of trainers, monitoring and mentoring, quality assurance, etc.  

·         The incumbent shall support current and future projects of the Youth Programme linked to sexual and reproductive health information and comprehensive sexuality education as they are developed as well as complementary new interventions as they are started

·         The incumbent shall contribute to teenage pregnancy prevention efforts

·         The incumbent shall support HIV prevention efforts with young people

·         The incumbent shall liaise with responsible line ministries, sustain fruitful partnerships with civil society organization and strengthen the linkages between the programme and youth organizations to ensure the highest level of relevance, quality and implementation of the programme.

 

Qualification and Professional Experience:

·         University degree in social sciences, nursing, midwifery, medicine, public health or other relevant fields. A Master degree is an advantage.

·         4 years of relevant professional experience. Previous experience of working for the UN is an advantage. Previous experience of working for an NGO also an asset.

·         Good knowledge of sexual and reproductive health is necessary. Familiarity with youth sexual and reproductive health issues is an asset.

·         Previous experience as a trainer/facilitator is an advantage, experience in monitoring training.

·         Gender neutral attitudes and values that support the SRH education of young people is necessary

·         Previous experience of working with young people is an asset.

·         Previous experience in working for capacity building of local partners is an asset.

·         Very good knowledge of written and oral English. Very good knowledge of Tetum also necessary.
